Instagram Likes are tempting to make your account look good, here’s the full story. It all started a week ago when I got a direct message on my Instagram account that has almost 16,000 followers. Asking me if I am interested in buying Instagram likes. “You have a very interesting profile but not enough activity. We can fix this” said Kriss. “Let me run a demo for you really quick” and suddenly my account started flooding with notifications. All sorts of random Russian accounts on a race to like my content. I did not really think much of it and I thought it will not affect my account at all. I get a message again from Kriss saying “You’re not going to see results right away. You need to keep subscribed to our service so Instagram thinks you have constant engagement”.

Kriss lied — I did the math.

My account’s engagement went straight to the trash can after that. Simply my content isn’t being seen. I went 3,000–4,000 reach to 200–300 reach. The percentage of non-followers that interacted with my media went way up to over 70%. Still, I thought that everything would go back to the way it was before. I was mistaken.

I kept posting like I do everyday and my posts were getting 500–600 likes from my followers before the fake instagram likes. Now they’re crawling slowly to reach 100. Fake likes destroyed my engagement, and now my account is in it’s recovery stage. I talked to several people that buy likes after that and I found out that they had to stay buying the likes once they started. It’s almost like a drug that you can not stop once you take it the first time. 

I would not recommend buying instagram likes to anyone. Don’t let people fool you by saying that your media deserves more likes. Keep honest. These likes are not going to get you anywhere. Even if you just started your Instagram account this afternoon, don’t be tempted. Instead, build your audience. Form relationships with people from your niche. Like and comment on stuff that you are interested in. And that’s how your account will make it out there.
